7 Occupational WWE Gimmicks That Were Really Stupid

6. Friar Ferguson

"A very impressive debut for Friar Ferguson." - Vince McMahon. No Vince, it was not. The Friar Ferguson character didn't have a long run in WWE, which is probably a good thing. In his debut match on Raw, he wore a brown cape that he wrestled in and even had the word "Monk" written on a piece of paper on his chest before the match. What made WWE think of creating a heel monk character anyway? It didn't make a lot of sense. The gimmick actually upset a lot of church groups, which was why they ended it within a few months. Either that was the reason or they realized how awful a character it is. It almost seems like they put this guy in the ring to piss off religious types. At least the man playing Ferguson had a longer career as Bastion Booger. He went from evil monk to guy that loves eating food. What a career!
