2. He Has A History Of Alcohol & Drug Problems

Angle's drug and alcohol use have been a major black mark on his image. While he may be presented as an All-American hero a lot of the time, he's certainly made his share of mistakes along the way. He's been arrested for DUI or DWI four different times. While he has not spent a significant amount of time behind bars in his life, he clearly had a problem. To his credit he went into rehab in August of 2013 after his latest DWI arrest and he's publicly stated that he's been sober for the last year. His dependency on drugs really worried WWE when he worked there especially in those final two years. Due to the heavy schedule he worked, the number of neck injuries he's had and problems with his knees, he felt like he had to take painkillers to get through it. There have been reports that Angle was taking regular doses of painkillers, but when he was at his worst he was taking up to 65 per day. It was a very dangerous time in his life. It's great that he's got his problem under control, but what happens if there's a relapse or something worse? It may be something that WWE wants nothing to do with in terms of signing him back as a wrestler again.
