7 Things We Learned From The Evolution Of Punk Episode 3
5. The Injury Disrupted His Training More Than We Thought
For Punk, training is like playing chess. That's a good analogy - after all, strategy is a huge part of fighting.
Which is why being away from his training camp at Roufusport was so problematic for Punk. Instead of working with the team expected to give him a shot at winning his pro fight debut, he was busy rehabbing his shoulder injury, and missed weeks of action in camp.
When news of Punk's injury surfaced last year, it all seemed to happen so fast - he's hurt, he's having surgery - that it didn't seem that major. Yet while the episode didn't go too in depth on the nature of his injury, it's clear he spent enough time away from training to make an impact. In fact, he went from hopefully fighting in 2015, to having to push his debut back another year.
And the worse news? That wouldn't be the last injury Punk would have to deal with, something that will be covered in the series' final episode.
