For all intents and purposes, the Raw women’s division has been floundering for several months now. Ever since all the iterations of the Four Horsewomen were played out, there really hasn’t been much interest in the women’s division.

Enter Paige and her trio, Absolution.

After a year away from WWE, the anti-diva returned to Raw last month with Sonja Deville and Mandy Rose in tow, running roughshod over a good chunk of the division. In three weeks, they’ve taken out Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Mickie James.

While they aren’t looking like a long-term, dominant group (Rose and Deville haven’t competed in the ring yet, so the jury’s out on their ability on the big stage), Absolution has provided a shot in the arm to the women’s division. Even Paige’s match against Sasha, despite starting off in a pedestrian manner, it was something different. We haven’t seen it before, and that’s worth noting and applauding.

Let’s hope Absolution continues to deliver something good in the weeks to come.
