4. Executive Director: Paul Heyman
Paul Heyman brings a bit more excitement but again it is more the daze and haze of the fond memories we hold than the actual choice itself. After all, ECW is a cherished and prized piece of wrestling culture in many wrestling fan’s hearts and Paul is the one who gave us that. In a way, his long standing presence on WWE is due to this feeling of owed support that we feel toward him for this. But once again you have to realize we are talking about a fun memory of a once entertaining company he sold to Vince nearly 20 years ago.
That is not to take away from his immense talents. He is a generally respected and well-liked guy in the locker room who has a keen eye for talent and seems to genuinely want to put the best product and best wrestlers out there as much as possible. His track record in the company and his own promotion of course do show that. But we are talking about a 53 year old man who hasn’t lacked opportunity and it doesn’t exactly show departure from the normal minds involved in WWE’s creative process.
So that of course brings up the simple question: will things actually change? Well…
