At One Night Stand 2008, Randy Orton broke his collarbone and was put on the shelf for several months. The very next night, Chris Jericho usurped him as the hottest heel in all of WWE by putting Shawn Michaels head-first through a television monitor.

That kicked off one of the best runs of Jericho's career, and from there, virtually everything he touched turned to gold. After ending his feud with Michaels on top, he became world champion again for the first time in over six years and set his sights on headlining WrestleMania 25.

Granted, Jericho already had a main event match at 'Mania under his belt from 2002 when he defended the Undisputed Championship against Triple H, but few fans actually think of that as an instant classic. Y2J aimed to do better and redeem himself from that stinker of a WrestleMania match-up by walking into the 2009 installment with the belt and more heat than anybody else on earth.

Unfortunately, WWE took the title off him before he could receive a real run with it, leaving fans to question what could have been had he held on to the strap until the event.

He ended up wrestling in the third match on the WrestleMania card against three WWE Hall of Famers after the expected outing with Mickey Rourke fell through. In other words, it was a waste of Jericho.
