2. Brock Lesnar

Brock Lesnar enjoyed a rookie year that likely only Bill Goldberg could hope to match. Brock's physical abilities defied belief, and by virtue of his strength alone he looked at home demolishing peerless legends like the Rock and the Undertaker. But Brock's was a textbook case of "too much, too soon"; after a King of the Ring, a WrestleMania main event, Royal Rumble win, and multiple world titles, the man was bored. He left, locked in a lawsuit over non-compete clauses, and failed a tryout for the Minnesota Vikings. The once unstoppable beast had been rendered a disconcertingly pink and puffy-faced mortal.

That is, until someone suggested to Brock that perhaps he should redirect his energies to hurting others on purpose, and an MMA career was born. Brock became the first wrestler since Ken Shamrock to be less than an embarrassment in the octagon, and he was a household name. Even though a bout of diverticulitis ended his UFC career, his newfound credibility rebuilt any burned bridges between Lesnar and his former employers. Brock's aura of invincibility remained untarnished as he demolished John Cena, Triple H, and CM Punk with relative ease. At WrestleMania XXX,  Brock Lesnar decimated the Undertaker and added "Conqueror of the Streak" to his list of unmatched accomplishments.
