8 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE Hell In A Cell 2018

2. More Deserving Matches Never Got The Cell

For the first time in years, Hell in a Cell was actually stacked with matches and feuds that were worthy of 'Satan's Structure'. Unfortunately, none of them actually took place inside the cell.

AJ Styles' rivalry with Samoa Joe started out as a major scheduled WWE Championship match, and has since grown into a personal blood feud between two former best friends. Though it hasn't had as much time to develop, the exact same could be said for Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch's feud over the SmackDown Women's Championship.

Then you have Daniel Bryan and The Miz's personal hatred for each that has been boiling for over eight years. Now that's a story and a match worthy of Hell in a Cell. Instead of giving us that, WWE decided to go for a mixed tag team match to drag out the feud a little longer while limiting the amount of singles matches.

All three of these contests would have been worthy of the Hell In A Cell structure - but not one of them took place inside those steel walls. Unfortunately that honour was bestowed upon much less-deserving matches.
