8 Biggest Missed Opportunities From WWE Hell In A Cell 2018
1. Wasting Braun Strowman's Cash-in
The Universal Championship match ended in disaster when Brock Lesnar made an unexpected return, kicking in the cell door and destroying both Roman Reigns and his challenger, Braun Strowman.
While Lesnar's return did have some logic behind it (it helps drag out the story a little longer while creating some intrigue surrounding 'The Beast's role in the company) it came at the absolute wrong time. This wasn't just any old Universal Championship match - it was Braun Strowman's long-awaited Money in the Bank cash-in.
So, with the pressure on to deliver... WWE produced this? This was what the company had been building towards ever since Strowman won the briefcase? All those amazing false cash-ins were negated because the real cash-in was being saved for this?
From The Shield's outside battle with McIntyre and Ziggler to Lesnar's return, the entire second half of the match made Strowman's opportunity feel like an afterthought. The whole situation did nothing for 'The Monster Among Men' and was a complete waste of his much-anticipated cash in, and by extension, his entire Money in the Bank briefcase win.
