8 Huge Problems With Brock Lesnar Vs. The Undertaker At WWE SummerSlam
5. Where's The Motive?
So The Undertaker returned and attacked Brock Lesnar. Why? The most obvious answer is revenge for breaking his famed WrestleMania winning streak. Which is a reasonable excuse for attacking Lesnar...if Brock had broken the streak via illegal means and if the attack had come, oh, I dunno, thirteen months ago. Why is the Undertaker exacting revenge on Lesnar now? Some have said that it's because Paul Heyman has recently started to reference The Undertaker in promos. But Heyman was doing so incessantly for months after Brock broke the streak in 2014. What gives? If The Undertaker wanted to spoil Brock's party, why didn't he do so at this year's Royal Rumble or WrestleMania? Obviously, WWE have reacted to the declining ratings and subpar network numbers and panic booked Lesnar versus Undertaker for SummerSlam. The writers are going to have to come up with a good reason for 'Taker's actions. 'Lesnar cleanly broke the streak over a year ago and now I want revenge' just doesn't cut it. It makes The Demon of Death Valley look like a sore loser, more than anything. And that's a huge problem.
