8 New Directions For WWE After Clash In Paris 2025
4. Logan Paul = WWE Title Challenger?
There surely can't be too many haters left for Logan Paul embarking on a pro wrestling career par excellence. After all, it's been over 3 years since Paul first teamed with The Miz to defeat Rey and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 38. Since then, he's worked everyone from Miz, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, to LA Knight, AJ Styles and Cody Rhodes in tidy singles efforts
Now, over in France, Logan just matched a true legend every step of the way. He impressed yet again vs. John Cena, and even the most salty LP doubter can't reasonably suggest that he just laid out to let 'Super Cena' do all the work. Not many actually wrestle themselves. It takes 2 to tango, and all that noise.
Some would've laughed off claims that Paul could ever be viewed as a serious contender in the World/WWE Title mixes years ago, but he is. He very much is. Obviously, Drew McIntyre is next in line for a crack at Cody once the champ finishes up filming scenes for Street Fighter, but beyond that? Are there any better speed bump challengers for Rhodes than Paul?
Yes, they've already gone at it back at King And Queen Of The Ring 2024, but that might as well be ancient history at this point. Besides, Logan is unthinkably even better in-ring than he was a year and change ago. The fact he's managed to do that with so few in-ring reps (regular house show loops are a thing of the past, at least domestically) is astonishing.
Imagine LP challenging come Survivor Series, or maybe scoring a few tasty wins that take his beef with Cody into Royal Rumble. That's a nightmare scenario for some, maybe, but he’s good enough in-ring and on the mic to make it work, and the mainstream interest it'd garner alone makes any push worthwhile.
