8 Reasons WWE Must Sign Kenny Omega
7. It Would Show How Far The Company Has Come
Not only is Kenny Omega on WWE's radar, but he's been there for many, many years. In fact, he worked for the company long ago. In 2005, the then-22-year-old was signed to a developmental contract and assigned to Deep South Wrestling. During his tenure, Omega teamed with Heath Slater and wrestled the likes of Vladimir Kozlov and Eric Escobar.
After about 10 months in WWE's farm system, though, Omega requested - and was granted - his release. He later cited mistreatment by coaches Bill DeMott, Jody Hamilton, and Bob Holly as driving him out of the company, and despite the fact that he put over Dave Taylor for helping him, he looked to have no interest in returning.
More than 11 years later, though, both Omega and WWE are very different. Unorthodox stars have an easier time being themselves and getting opportunities, while everybody running developmental back then is no longer with the company. An Omega return would prove that WWE is a better place to work these days.
