8 Reasons WWE Must Sign Kenny Omega

6. That Whole Nakamura Thing...

Kenny Omega
IWGP

Kenny Omega's last reign as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion ended at Wrestle Kingdom 10, but the very next evening, he changed the face of the company. First, he pinned Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura in a tag match, then he attacked AJ Styles, taking his place as leader of Bullet Club and driving "The Phenomenal One" out of New Japan.

Omega's pinfall on Nakamura cemented him as the number one contender to the Intercontinental TItle, but the match would never come to be. The timeline on Nakamura's departure to WWE was accelerated, and it was announced that "The King of Strong Style" would be leaving before the next PPV. Rather than hotshot the title onto Omega, Nakamura was stripped of the belt, and "The Cleaner" won it in a match with Hiroshi Tanahashi.

The final takeaway from all that? Kenny Omega's singles match with Shinsuke Nakamura never happened, and fans want to see it. There's only one company in the world that can promote the dream bout, and that's WWE.
