8 Things WWE Must Do To Save Raw

7. Less Of The Authority!

A good authority figure can provide a a good excuse to book certain matches, give the events of the show a sense of logic and reason, and even get involved in one or two feuds themselves. However, when such figures become the stars of the show - eclipsing most of the wrestlers on the roster - problems begin to arise. Triple H and Stephanie cut a long promo on almost ever Raw these days. They've been heavily involved with Seth Rollins throughout his title reign, taking the "corporate champion" angle to new extremes. They're usually portrayed as heels, but often make bafflingly babyface decisions. They bombastically announce crowd-pleasing matches and soak in the cheers, or crop up backstage as responsible executives, valuing professionalism above all else. A recent episode focused around Kane undergoing an HR assessment. Try to take in how boring that sounds, and how unlikely it is to attract new viewers (or win back old ones). The Authority's role needs to be stripped back a great deal. Triple H and Stephanie can occasionally announce a big match or open a particularly important Raw, sure, but they shouldn't be allowed to overshadow the wrestlers with such regularity.
