8 Times Wrestlers Embarrassed Themselves On Camera
1. Hulk Hogan's Sex Tape
Without a doubt the most profitable sex tape never to be officially released, Hulk Hogan's bank account inflated by the sum of $140 million after winning his lawsuit against Gawker for an invasion of privacy. But while his pockets got fatter, his legacy in the wrestling industry took a nosedive.
It wasn't the sex scandal itself that did him in, but the unabashedly racist, post-coital comments made by the Hulkster that got him in hot water with the public.
In the conversation, Hulk rants about his daughter dating a black man, and his disappointment with her over it:
“I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f**k some n****r, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n****r worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player! I guess we’re all a little racist. F**king n***r.”
The professional wrestling industry is certainly no stranger to racism accusations -- what with their propensity for keeping black wrestlers down and pushing jingoism in their storylines -- so maybe it shouldn't have surprised anyone to see the company's golden boy indulge in a bit of casual racism offscreen, as well.
WWE promptly exterminated Hogan's contracts and proceeded to scrub him from their history books.
