8 Ups & 11 Downs For WWE In 2018 (So Far)

9. Bobby Lashley's Return

That WWE have made such a tit of Bobby Lashley's return is almost inconceivable, yet they have contrived to create the most tepid comeback arc in recent history.

Arriving the night after WrestleMania 34, the former United States Champion proceeded to do absolutely nothing of note over the coming weeks, with fans given no reason to invest in him outside nostalgia. From there, he was slotted into a feud with Sami Zayn. This could've worked had the writing been sharper, but Lashley was portrayed as a bumbling, smiling goof in the face of his opponent's trolling, and it's hard to imagine WWE television getting any worse in 2018 than the infamous sisters segment.

Now, Lashley finds himself feuding with Roman Reigns without a semblance of heat. Pushed way over his head in his first run, he has suffered through equally misguided presentation in his second. This is baffling, as while Lashley was super green the first time around, he finally evolved into the performer Vince McMahon always wanted to be during his time with Impact Wrestling.

A heel turn could yet save him, but for now, Bobo's a bust.
