8 Ups & 2 Downs From Impact Wrestling Victory Road 2020

Ups...

8. The Ken Shamrock Of Old

If you hadn't read the rumours regarding the Bound For Glory card, then Ken Shamrock being unveiled as Eddie Edwards' mystery assailant this past Tuesday must have come completely out of the blue. The last we saw of Shamrock up until that point was just after Slammiversary, where he was clearly aggravated by him and Sami Callihan's inability to lift the World Tag Team Championships.

Victory Road gave us a glimpse as to why the Hall of Fame inductee did such a thing, though. Well, once it was explained by Callihan, that is.

'The Draw' stated that Shamrock was lacking that killer instinct that had made him a star in the Attitude Era, the same killer instinct that was missing when they challenged The North a few months ago. Even though he insists this was in no way due to the beef he himself has with the former World Champion, Sami claims that Ken is his best friend. Something we wouldn't have believed a few months back.

Everywhere here was golden. Having Sami act as Shamrock's mouthpiece is an expert move to make with the pairing. Ken's promos aren't necessarily terrible, but Callihan's are far and above some of the best on offer in Impact today. The tone in which he can draw you into any story arc is beyond compelling.
