UPS…

8. Dominik Avoids The Squash

Dominik Mysterio Gunther
WWE

Dominik Mysterio versus Gunther was always going to be the basketball equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters versus the Washington Generals. But Dirty Dom managed to do something few expected: hang in there long enough to get a near-fall – almost all on his own!

JD McDonagh was ringside for backup, but aside from a couple of small distractions, he remained a non-factor. It was Gunther chopping a post that opened the door for a shred of doubt, as Mysterio jumped on the injured appendage and attacked it repeatedly. (Bryan Danielson targeting Eddie Kingston’s hand it was not, but it still worked.)

Dom-Dom couldn’t avoid Gunther forever though and soon fell victim to several hellacious chops, to the audience’s delight. Mysterio would pull off a shock move, turning a powerbomb into a Code Red for a two count, but Gunther very quickly squashed Dominik and made him tap out to a Boston Crab.

Kudos for an entertaining match where the only drama was how much a** Gunther was going to kick and whether Mysterio ended up with his chest completely caved in.
