3. Angle Buried

For a good while during the Attitude Era, Kurt Angle was on a level with Triple H and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. He later battled Shawn Michaels toe-to-toe and faced off against the Undertaker.

One thing you can unequivocally say about all these other legends and Hall-of-Famers… they’d never lose a match to Baron Corbin in under 10 minutes. That’s not to advocate for nearly 50-year-old legends to start beating up the next generation of superstars, but you don’t see Triple H or Undertaker get humiliated on Raw like this. They’re treated like deities in the ring.

Angle, meanwhile, has been decimated by Drew McIntyre (understandable), tossed from the Royal Rumble in short order (disappointing) and lost a revenge match against Corbin cleanly.

Perhaps this is leading to a redemption angle for Kurt, but it better come soon, because he’ll be jobbing to another Curt (Hawkins) soon enough.
