5. No Microphone, No Problem

It’s a pretty strong sign you’ve connected with the fans when a crowd can recite your entire pre-match routine without missing a beat. For Enzo Amore & Big Cass, that moment came Monday night.

The duo was out before Enzo’s match against Karl Anderson when their mics cut out. Luke Gallows revealed that they were all about “being mean and making green,” and they had paid off a tech to cross some wires to end their opponents’ fun and games. Enzo, however, “used” the mic tattoo on the back of his right hand and led the fans through the routine, which the Minnesota faithful did without fail.

This little shtick worked in a couple ways. Obviously, it showed that Enzo & Cass are over with fans, but it also let Anderson & Gallows be villains without doing something silly or making jokes. Cutting off the mics of someone whose strong suit is the pre-match promo? Cads.
