8 Wrestlers WWE Pushed In The WORST Way Possible

2. King Mabel

As a tag team wrestler, Mabel was a fan-favourite as part of Men On A Mission. At a time when WWE's New Generation was more cartoonish than ever, the tag-team was one of the few gimmicks that fans got behind as the company tried to find its way in the post-Hulk Hogan era. When a duo gets popular, head office are often guilty of wanting one of the team to become the star, and so Mabel was pushed into going solo when it didn't suit him at all.

As the bigger and stronger of the pairing, it was easy to see why WWE chose Mabel over his partner, Mo. The reality of the situation, however, is that Mabel was much better suited to being one half of a tag-team to hide his negatives and accentuate his strong suits. He was in no way ready to carry matches and the weight of a big push in WWE.

Mabel was pushed as King of the Ring in 1995 and headlined SummerSlam against Diesel that same year, but he was green in the ring and didn't have the personality for a role of this magnitude. To show how much this push failed, King Mabel was squashed in 8 seconds by Diesel on a December 18th, 1995 Raw taping, less than 4 months after the pair had headlined SummerSlam together.
