8 WWE Stars With The Best Character Arcs Right Now
6. Kevin Owens
Part of what makes Kevin Owens so great is that he is among WWE's few quessential heels. Furthermore, the WWE Universe knows what he is all about. Very rarely do WWE establish the characters of NXT call-ups, forcing them to flounder as a result (see: Neville, The Ascension). But Owens made his motivations quite clear from the get-go: not only is he a prizefighter, he is in WWE to provide for his family.
You would think that would automatically render him a good guy, but it is the way he carries himself that makes him so despicable. Instead of congratulating Sami Zayn on winning the NXT Championship upon his arrival in December 2014, he betrayed him, and those two have been at odds ever since.
In between going to war with his former friend, he has done whatever he has had to do to make as much money as possible, whether it be targeting the top dog John Cena or setting his sights on the Intercontinental Championship.
In fact, instead of completely forgetting all about his loss of the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 32, he re-entered the title picture in the spring because he was more obsessed with the gold than anything else. Lately, he has resumed his rivalry with Zayn coming out of the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
