9 Next WWE Steps For Seth Rollins
7. Seth Rollins Vs. Kevin Owens Vs. Roman Reigns
That being said, we could be seeing a sizeable spanner
thrust into the works in the form of Roman Reigns.
Drunk on his newfound matchmaking prowess, Mick Foley only went and booked a second contest at the end of this week’s Raw. He decreed that next week, Roman Reigns will face Kevin Owens in a non-title affair, and if he’s successful he too will be included in the WWE Universal Championship match at the Clash of the Champions PPV.
As dramatic as that all sounds though, I can’t help but feel that it may not be the best course of action given where we currently find ourselves.
The Big Dog's best moments of the past few months have arrived when he’s been away from the main event spotlight. Plus, with Rollins assuming the mantle of top babyface, there’s even less of a need to retain Reigns at the very top of the card. So to me, it just makes sense for Rollins and Owens to slug it out themselves, while Reigns rebuilds in his rivalry with Rusev before returning to challenge for top-tier honours somewhere further down the line.
Then again, WWE has a canny knack of making me eat my words...
