…really good.

Obviously (and understandably), a lot of people struggle to sit down and watch Chris Benoit's matches. The final hours of his life have made that impossible for those who can't separate what the Canadian did inside the ring from what happened at his family home in late-June 2007. Those events would reshape Benoit's legacy forever.

Before tragedy struck, WWE had moved Benoit to the fledgling ECW brand to give it some more star power and to make him a workhorse linchpin. It was similar to what they'd done with Kurt Angle the prior year in 2006 before he left for TNA. Sadly, Benoit's run on the show would be cut short for altogether more distressing reasons.

Pre-ECW jump, Benoit waved goodbye to SmackDown with a 19 minute banger vs. Edge on the 8 June '07 episode. If you're able to and can find the match out in the wild, then give it a watch. His final SmackDown feud with MVP over the United States Title also saw some really strong work from both guys and helped Porter bed in as a star fans should care about. Whilst it's difficult to champion anything Benoit, the match vs. Edge really is worth seeing for completionists who adore that 'Ruthless Aggression' era.

It's crazy to think what’d happen mere weeks after the Edge match. The whole thing is incredibly sad to think about. It'll be sad forever.
