ARGH!

MJF bagging the AEW World Title back at Full Gear last November was a real landmark moment for the company. That, more so than Kenny Omega or even Hangman Page before him, felt like a true homegrown star reaching the pinnacle (ha) of All Elite's ladder. It was a feel good moment despite his heel status.

The odds are stacked against Friedman in storyline at DoN though. He's in a four-way match vs. other "Pillars" like Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin and 'Jungle Boy' Jack Perry. What if a certain Mr. Khan behind the scenes decides that this pay-per-view needs a World Title change on it? What if he puts the thing on Sammy?!

That's not meant as a diss at the 'Spanish God', but he'd be a downgrade from MJF even in the short-term. AEW has Forbidden Door to burn through before getting to Wembley and All In London, so they might reason that a brief title chase for MJF is the way to keep things purring.

No thanks.
