Chris Jericho vs. Frankie Kazarian slightly edges out Britt Baker vs. Leyla Hirsch here.

Firstly, it was refreshing just to see these two veterans of the squared circle face off in singles action for the first ever time. That's been part of the beauty of seeing Jericho in AEW, of course. While Le Champion is obviously not quite as smooth in-ring as he was in years prior, there's something special about seeing Jericho matching up with so many completely new opponents.

But while the inaugural AEW World Champion may admittedly be slowing down a tad, Frankie Kazarian is still smooth as silk between the ropes, and these two vets meshed brilliantly well together.

The post-match Inner Circle turmoil may have been a little much, and the whole 'throwing in the towel' poser didn't quite hit home as AEW likely hoped, yet the match itself was a great TV bout that saw two true pros working well together.

Particularly, the match really picked up when Kazarian was on offense - apart from the overly-long Boston Crab spot that was to facilitate the MJF and Sammy Guevara bickering - and the former AEW Tag Team Champion got some nice near-falls before being put away with the Judas Effect at around the ten minute mark.
