The Murderhawk Monster stepped out on his own in 2019 following the break-up of his Killer Elite Squad tag team in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

After a stellar run in the G1 Climax and a reign with the IWGP United States Championship, major American companies started taking note of Lance Archer. AEW won the battle for Archer, and he made his debut for the company in March of this year.

Immediately paired up with Jake "the Snake" Roberts, Archer established himself as a force to be reckoned with and crushed opponents like Marko Stunt, Colt Cabana, and Dustin Rhodes in brutal fashion.

After suffering his first loss as part of a great storyline with Cody over the TNT Championship, Archer toiled on Dark for a while before remerging to win the Casino Battle Royale at All Out. His subsequent world title match against Jon Moxley was a great showing for the big Texan, even if he did lose.

Archer's 2020 rounded out with a feud against Eddie Kingston and his family, seemingly setting up a big singles match between the two in 2021 and a possible face turn for Lance. Archer continued his great momentum into 2020 and, despite losing both of his major title matches, expect him to keep that going into the new year and beyond.
