AEW's Double or Nothing promised a surprise final entrant in its excellent Casino Ladder Match. The final entrant in question was former Impact World Champion, "the Machine" Brian Cage.

Cage was a hot property, having garnered national acclaim with his freakish combination of size, speed, and neck. Pairing him up with Taz was an absolute masterstroke; one that led to Cage winning the ladder match and becoming number one contender for the AEW Championship.

Although he was unsuccessful in his title match, Cage has continued to be a featured presence on AEW TV. His alliance with Taz led to the Human Suplex Machine reviving his old FTW Championship gimmick. Whilst the belt doesn't really mean much, it's still a good prop for Cage and has even been defended on TV.

Recently, Cage's partnership with Ricky Starks and a certain other big boy has been a staple of AEW's midcard through Team Taz's feud with Cody and TNT Champion, Darby Allin. AEW's main event scene is so stacked that Cage could easily have become lost in it, but those trapezoids are still as prominent as ever, and who knows, we may not have seen the last of the Machine in the World Title picture.
