18. Matt Sydal

I really didn't want to put Matt Sydal this far down the list. The former Evan Bourne was one of the biggest names in independent wrestling before his first appearance in AEW. A star of Ring of Honor, IMPACT, New Japan Pro Wrestling, PWG and countless other promotions, Sydal racked up numerous championships all over the world before making a surprise appearance at 2020's All Out.

As the final entrant in the Casino Battle Royale, Sydal's debut scored a huge pop and could have been used to launch a very successful career for himself in AEW. And then... Sydal went straight for the top rope to hit his signature Shooting Star Press.

Unfortunately, he slipped on the ropes and so nearly landed right on his head.

It's one thing to botch your finisher, it's another thing to botch your finisher in your first match with a new company, but botching your finishing move as the first move of your first match is a whole new level of embarrassing.

Sydal has gone onto appear sporadically on episodes of Dark and Dynamite, and actually has a pretty positive winning record at 9-3. However, without a seriously good storyline, it'll be hard to associate Matt Sydal and his Third Eye with anything other than that botch.
