AEW: Ranking Every 2020 Signing's Run From Best To Worst
16. Alan Angels
The reason Alan "5" Angels is so much higher on this list than his tag partner Preston Vance is because of one match. On the 22 April episode of Dynamite, Angels got the opportunity of a lifetime when he took on future AEW World Champion, Kenny Omega.
This was easily the biggest match of the 22-year-old Angels' career thus far, and in the six minutes and 19 seconds he got in the ring with the Cleaner, Angels proved himself as one to keep an eye on.
Off the back of his loss to Kenny (be realistic, guys), Angels was taken in by the Dark Order, going on to establish himself in an undercard tag team with the aforementioned Vance. Mostly used as an enhancement talent, Alan Angels has found a firm place in AEW's landscape. However, he is clearly being positioned as one of the promotion's breakout stars, even if that takes a few years to come to fruition.
The match with Omega took Angels' career to heights he likely never could have imagined in 2020, and it'll be interesting to watch that match with the power of hindsight in a few years time.
