AEW wrestler Brodie Lee has passed away at the age of 41. The death was announced on All Elite Wrestling's official Twitter account.
The cause of death was disclosed by his wife Amanda Huber as "a non-[COVID-19] related lung issue" he was seeking treatment for at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Real name Jonathan Huber, Lee began on the independent scene before joining WWE under the ring name Luke Harper, as an original member of the Wyatt Family stable and later the Bludgeon Brothers tag team.
Lee signed with AEW in March 2020 as "The Exalted One", the leader of the Dark Order stable. Lee won the AEW TNT Championship from Cody Rhodes in August, losing it in a dog collar match with Cody on an October 7 episode of AEW Dynamite. Lee later took time off due to an undisclosed injury, it's unclear if it had anything to do with his cause of death.
Many of Lee's past colleagues and friends have paid tribute to the wrestler on social media.
Huber is survived by his wife, Amanda, and their two sons, Brodie and Nolan.
