CM Punk has hinted at a return to pro wrestling for a match with Samoa Joe. Joe has just announced his return to Ring Of Honor and stated on Twitter it would be an unpredictable ride. I owe you one, PAL. CM Punk responded to Joes tweet. Reading it literally, some fans decided that was Punk saying he owes Joe a match. It could of course mean anything, and it could just be Punk working the fans. MMA training for the UFC is definitely going to keep Punk busy. But doing a pro wrestling match isnt out of the question, it all really depends on UFCs contract with Punk. A one off match in a small wrestling promotion isnt likely to impact Punks schedule. But the UFC could nix it, with the view that Punk needs to distance himself from pro wrestling, if hes to get over as a serious MMA fighter. Punk would also need to work any potential Joe match in a safe manner, which is easier said than done. Any injuries sustained in a wrestling ring would be a disaster for Punks aim to fight for real at the end of 2015. With all of this in mind, it is doubtful that Punk would do another Samoa Joe match until his UFC career has concluded. That could be sooner rather than later, depending on how Punks first fight goes in the UFCs Octagon. Punk would be a major draw for Ring Of Honor and it would also be a good way for the former WWE star to stick one to Vince McMahon. It would be great to see this as a match in the future. Their previous ROH matches were instant classics.
