Edge Reveals His Real Thoughts On Christian Cage Jumping From WWE To AEW

How hard has losing his best friend to WWE's competition been for Edge?

Christian Cage
AEW

"Whatever the initials are, he's my best friend".

That beautiful line is one Edge uttered during a recent appearance on Sports Illustrated's Media podcast. SI asked WWE's comeback king to describe how hard it has been for him to lose his best friend Christian Cage to AEW, but the typically-upbeat Canadian refused to be selfish.

Instead, he's happy for his buddy. Also, Edge just wants Christian to get the recognition he deserves, and he thinks AEW might be a great place for him to see that happen. That's inarguable; Cage was obviously excited for the future during his own podcast appearance alongside Renée Paquette on 'Oral Sessions', and he can't wait to have some killer matches on Dynamite and AEW pay-per-view.

Presumably, Edge will be watching from afar with a smile.

Edge is particularly keen to see Christian get the "on-air respect" that his peers give him behind the scenes. He pointed towards Randy Orton's recent comments on Steve Austin's 'Broken Skull Sessions' show as evidence of how respected Cage is in the locker room.

He'd love to see Christian smash it over in AEW for years to come.
