An unlikely challenger for Kazuchika Okada's IWGP Heavyweight Championship in February, 'Cold Skull' remains one of New Japan's slickest performers, though his buzz has cooled considerably over the past few years. He's still a great wrestler, but perhaps lacks the charisma required to get to the next level.

Having spent much of the year as one half of the IWGP Tag Team Champions, SANADA will face the likes of Kenny Omega, Tomohiro Ishii, and Los Ingobernables de Japon stablemate Tetsuya Naito in block B. He'll deliver his usual array of ***½-**** bouts, but Gedo may have already checked out on him as a future main eventer.
