One of the most under-appreciated wrestlers in Japan today, Hirooki Goto has unfortunately become defined by his inability to win the big one. He's an excellent bruiser, and brings one of NJPW's hardest hitting styles to the table, but has lost all eight of his past IWGP Heavyweight Title shots. This means Goto has a clearly defined upper-midcard ceiling, and that's fine.

The current NEVER Openweight Champion is a better wrestler than many we've ranked above him, and he'll have a bunch of great bouts, but it's hard to see the bridesmaid becoming the bride this summer.
