6. TakeOver: London

NXT’s first special event in London saw Finn Bálor make his return to the UK — where he had gotten his start in wrestling and well before he began to cover himself in demonic body paint. For TakeOver: London, the Demon took on a historical tone as he channelled the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper.

Covered in a collared black cape and wearing a stove pipe hat — under which remained the traditional dreadlocks — Finn stalked his way to the ring with his NXT title in hand. When his cloak-like shroud was removed, fans were given their first glimpse of Bálor's elaborately painted back. The piece featured a fanged Ripper standing beside London’s famous Big Ben clock tower.

Furthermore, while the fanged mouth of the Demon was still present on his chest and face, this incarnation of his alter ego was the first time that Bálor's face was painted a demonic red rather than the traditional black. It was one of the most special versions of the demonic personification to that point and represented a shift for the Demon, as Finn began to play into folklore and history beyond the Celtic mythology of Bálor.
