Every WWE Release Of 2021 - Where Are They Now? (Five Years Later)
57. Santana Garrett
Then: Santana Garrett was already a 10 year veteran by the time she signed a full-time WWE deal in 2019. Garrett had been making towns for the company long before that though. Her first match as an enhancement worker came in 2013, but it was a fleeting moment that didn't lead to anything more substantial.
At least not back then.
Santana was well-respected in groups like Stardom and WOW, to be fair, and she'd eventually make her way to the NXT roster. Things were looking up for Garrett when she entered the 2021 women's Royal Rumble match, but that'd prove to be one of her last big moments in WWE before she was let go in June.
Now: Like countless others, Santana took a stab at fame in AEW, but she'd only get a gig on lower-tier programming like Rampage and Dark. However, Garrett did get to mix it with the likes of Jade Cargill and Tay Conti during her time in All Elite. She just couldn't sell the decision makers on a full-time contract.
The independent eating has been good for Santana in recent years, at least. She launched a comeback in WOW, and has even worked a match for the NWA on the side. A solid pro, Garrett is closing in on the 20 year mark as a wrestler. That's something to cheer about - not many enjoy that kind of longevity, especially if they haven't tasted huge success in the major leagues.
Perhaps her father's experience in the biz (he wrestled as 'TNT' Kenny G) has helped keep Santana's feet on the ground.
