Coming off the back of an immensely successful Slammiversary pay-per-view, Impact Wrestling's next special has been confirmed for 18 and 25 August. Titled Emergence, the two week special will take the place of those Tuesday's Impact episodes, similar to Rebellion this past April.

The news was officially confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, who also revealed that the main event of night two will see Jordynne Grace receiving her obligatory championship rematch against Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Championship. Grace and Purrazzo's Slammiversary showdown was deemed the match of the night by many, leaving their Emergence clash as a hotly-anticipated rematch.

Last night's Impact Wrestling episode also confirmed that The Motor City Machine Guns will defend the World Tag Team Championships against Ethan Page and Josh Alexander in a rematch from the post-Slammiversary episode. That piece of news was unveiled during Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley's interview with Jimmy Jacobs.

At the time of writing, no other matches have been confirmed for the special, and with only one more Impact episode before the special kicks off, we should expect to see a number of announcements between now and next week.
