John Cena's 10 Most Notorious Urban Legends

3. He Wants To Leave WWE To Be A Movie Star

Story: Cena has been a part of 10 movies in his career including two this year. That doesn't include his participation in the 2000 WCW film Ready To Rumble where he just happened to be working out in a gym and was filmed in the background when he was just a nobody. His two films this year are mainstream films where he is in a supporting role. Trainwreck has completed filming. Cena missed several live events and a few episodes of Raw to film it. He's also a part of The Nest, which is still being filmed. Both are comedies and if they do really well it would make Cena more of a mainstream star because he would be seen in a film by people that aren't wrestling fans. We've seen The Rock go from pro wrestling to movies full time and become one of the biggest box office draws alive. Now it appears like Dave Batista is going that route after the success of Guardians of the Galaxy. Cena's 37 years old. He's not going to wrestle forever. He can talk about WWE for life all he wants, but if the movie offers keep rolling in don't be surprised if he becomes the next crossover Hollywood star. Why People Believe It: Facts are facts. He missed several Raw episodes as well as live events for most of the summer to film those movies. They didn't mention it on WWE TV, but it happened and it will continue to happen as long as he gets bigger movie roles. Should We Believe It: Any celebrity probably wants to be a movie star, so we should believe it to a certain degree. It doesn't mean he's out there seeking movie roles, though. If they come his way he'll take them if it fits his schedule. He seems genuine when he says he'll be in WWE forever although once he hits his early 40s that may change.
