Right from the first move, a blind overhead headscissors from Mysterio to Angle, this match was on fire. These two were already legendary talents and they were at a perfect point in their careers to put on a crowd pleasing match. They have different styles but blended together perfectly during this SummerSlam 2002 opener.

The big spot that catapulted this bout into the next gear was when the ref stopped Rey mid-sprint from diving to the outside against Kurt. The ref then turned his attention to Kurt and Rey took a running start anyway. He dove over the back of the unsuspecting official and took out Kurt. It was a very clever spot that rightfully got a huge pop.

The finish happened when Rey tried to hurricanrana Kurt off of the ropes but Kurt countered into an ankle lock. It didn't come across as crisp as they might've hoped, but it was still exciting.

This was one of those matches that would be good to show a non-wrestling fan in an attempt to show them why wrestling is awesome. It was very exciting and yet the only the second best match on this list. Kurt definitely brought his A game to SummerSlam.
