Latest Name Confirmed For WWE Hall Of Fame 2024
The WWE Hall of Fame adds another major legend to its ranks.
With Paul Heyman, Bull Nakano, and the US Express already confirmed for this year's WWE Hall of Fame class, it's now been announced that Muhammad Ali will also be a part of the 2024 HOF.
The news of Ali's impending induction was initially reported by Variety, with this then followed up by WWE during last night's Raw.
Largely viewed as the greatest boxer who ever lived, Muhammad Ali had several notable ties to the wrestling world over the years. In addition to an exhibition match against Antonio Inoki in Tokyo, Japan back in June 1976, Ali was a pivotal part of bringing the big-name celebrity buzz to the first WrestleMania, where he served as the special referee of the Hulk Hogan & Mr. T vs. Roddy Piper & Paul Orndorff main event. Elsewhere, just a couple of weeks before that Inoki exhibition, the Olympic gold medalist also got physical with Gorilla Monsoon during one of Monsoon's matches against Baron Mikel Scicluna. Ali was later a guest for the infamous WCW Collision in Korea event in 1995.
After a lengthy battle with Parkinson's syndrome, Muhammad Ali passed away on 3 June 2016 due to septic shock. He was way 74 years of age. Ali will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his widow, Lonnie Ali.
In other WWE Hall of Fame news, recent reports have noted Haku and Lia Maivia as two other names who could be a part of the 2024 class.
