That Mike Chioda's first WWE appearance came all the way back in 1989 made his one of the more surprising releases, though he hadn't appeared on television much over the past few years.

Nonetheless, he's an experienced referee that any promotion would be lucky to have. If he wants to keep going, and there's nothing to indicate he doesn't, than AEW could definitely use his services. The upstart group would benefit from another respected veteran to hold things down between the ropes and keep a roster that still discards the rulebook on occasion at bay.
