PWI Top 500 Wrestlers Of 2019 - Top 10 Names REVEALED
8. Kenny Omega
It's been a strange 12 months for last year's Number 1. Despite still being considered the greatest pro wrestler on the planet, his transition from New Japan's biggest asset to One of the Boys in AEW hasn't quite been as smooth as either him or his colleagues would have liked. In short, he's yet to really show the best of himself there.
Taking the L from Chris Jericho in the number one contender main event, he's now being forced to work PAC at All Out as a replacement from Jon Moxley. Neither of these are inherently a bad thing, but given the alleged bidding war that took place between WWE and his own conscience he'd have hoped for an unbroken run at the top of the industry.
Calling a drop to 8th position proof of a downturn in his standing is, admittedly, stretching things somewhat, but some of the names to overtake him would have felt absolutely inconceivable 12 months ago. 2020 might well see him at the summit once again, but to do that he'll have to show a side to his work so far missing in AEW.
