6. Battleground (July 19)
Best Match: Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar Worst Match: King Barrett vs. R-Truth This year's Battleground was a significant improvement over the inaugural 2014 edition of the show, which was one of the worst of that year. 2015 gave us three very good matches, including the final chapter in what was easily the best trilogy in WWE. John Cena and Kevin Owens squared off for the final time in the third bout in their classic series, which should have catapulted Owens in the upper echelon of superstars but didn't because his post-Cena booking left a lot to be desired. But he was pure money in this program, and he and John went out and tore the house down every time they worked together. Many people bemoaned the finish of having K.O. submit, but it doesn't detract from what an awesome match this was. Roman Reigns also kicked off the feud with Bray Wyatt that would serve as a bit of a turnaround for the often unfairly maligned Juggernaut. While some viewed Wyatt losing yet another feud as a questionable choice, Roman needed some strong wins to help his failing push. The two had some very good performances and this was opening salvo was an impressive round in the war to come. Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar closed the show with a main event that looked like it was heading toward being something special before The Oldertaker showed up and kicked Brock in the balls. Still salty from his loss over a year ago, The Deadman interrupted what could have been a classic, and the match having no definitive ending hurts this PPV's ranking.
