Ranking Every Demon Finn Bálor Match In WWE And NXT
1. Vs. Kevin Owens (NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn)
For the first time ever, NXT journeyed outside of Full Sail University to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for a live TakeOver special in August 2015, and headlining that show was Finn Bálor vs. Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship.
It wasn't any ordinary main event, however; they faced off in only the second Ladder match in NXT history.
Neither man had a ton of experience with the stipulation, but they didn't look out of place in this environment whatsoever. There were a ton of fun spots executed throughout, including Owens powerbombing Bálor off the ladder and The Demon following that up with a Coup de Grace from the top.
Owens focused less on wowing the audience with impressive maneuvers and more on inflicting pain and punishment on his opponent using the ladders surrounding the ring.
As for The Demon, he took full advantage of competing in front of a capacity crowd and went high risk whenever he could in an attempt to make a star out of himself.
Although Owens had debuted on the main roster a few months earlier and it was predictable that he wasn't regaining the gold, it was a wonderful send-off for him from NXT. Better yet, he put over a top prospect in Bálor on the way out and gave NXT fans a tremendous last match to remember him by.
