Another moment on this list that happened at WrestleMania, but a revolutionary one nonetheless. In a year that contained: the debut of AJ Styles, the returns of Shane McMahon and Goldberg, and the retirement of one of the most captivating superstars in recent memory, Daniel Bryan - you would be forgiven for thinking that one of those moments would be the most defining of the year. However, with the ability of hindsight, the key moment in 2016 has to be the creation of a new Women's Championship.

The debut of this new title was a pivotal chapter in the Women's Revolution as it established female superstars, rather than 'Divas'. The captivating triple threat match that was held at WrestleMania to crown a new Champion between Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and the eventual winner, Charlotte Flair was a performance for the ages and presented the new age of Women's wrestling.

Lita's announcement of the Championship on the pre-show was symbolic, almost as a passing of the torch from a key female star from the previous era of WWE to the new batch of female talent who were (and still are) proving the doubters wrong every single week.
