This week's episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX suffered an overnight ratings drop of 14.6%, according to Showbuzz Daily.

After last Friday's commendable average of 2.326 million and a 0.7 rating in the ever-important 18-49 demographic, the latest edition of the blue show only managed to draw in 1.987 million viewers on average overnight, with a score of 0.55 in the aforementioned category.

Hour one of SmackDown brought in 2.016 million viewers before hour two fell to 1.957 million. The show's 18-49 demographic score also saw SmackDown finish #3 on the night in that category, with How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Minions Holiday Special both tying #1 with 0.7.

Those who tuned into this Friday's SmackDown witnessed Jey Uso attack both Otis and Daniel Bryan, SmackDown Women's Champion Sasha Banks finally getting the upper hand in her feud with Carmella, Bayley and Bianca Belair setting the stage for a potential programme, and Sami Zayn successfully retaining his Intercontinental Championship via count-out...again.

However, the biggest talking point coming out of the show was what the future would hold for Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens, after the latter made a powerful statement by destroying Jey Uso and calling out the "Tribal Chief".

Will KO's actions lead to a p*ssed off Reigns hunting down his cousin's tormentor, and an increase in next week's SmackDown overnight ratings?
