Having lost the AEW Tag Team Titles to Adam Copeland and Christian Cage at Double or Nothing this past weekend, there's now an interesting update on FTR.

Via BodySlam.net, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler signed fresh four-year deals with AEW in 2023, with the tandem now approaching the option year of those contracts.

Sources "close to the situation" told BodySlam that FTR believe they should be in the same bracket as AEW's "top-tier acts financially" when it comes to renewing with the company, citing the value and consistency Dax and Cash have shown across the past several years.

On the WWE front, the market leader has shown "preliminary interest" in FTR, as communicated by mutual contacts as this situation "draws attention" within AEW. However, this report notes that there are no clear signs that FTR are on their way out of AEW at this time, although the team's future beyond that option year is unclear.

Of course, Harwood and Wheeler - as Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder, collectively known as the Revival - had been together in WWE from 2014 until their exit in 2020. There, the pair had two runs as the Raw Tag Team Champions, one run as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, and two runs as the NXT Tag Team Champions, as they established themselves as one of the very best, if not the best, tag teams in the game. The Revival requested, and were granted, their WWE release in 2020 after becoming unhappy with how the company viewed tag team wrestling.

As FTR, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler would debut in AEW later that year, and are former three-time AEW Tag Team Champions.
