Triple H References His WWE Demotion On SmackDown

It's time to play some games...

Triple H Michael Cole

Triple H had a blast doing guest commentary alongside Michael Cole on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown.

'The Game' made the most of the unique, laid-back atmosphere, and he wasn't shy about breaking the fourth wall, using insider references or taking the p*ss out of himself. At one point, Trips even said, 'I'm the only guy who get even busier after a demotion', or something to that effect.

Cole, who was the butt of many jokes from Triple H throughout the night, couldn't help but laugh and hammer the announce desk after hearing some self-deprecating humour from his one-off commentary buddy; Triple H was replacing regular colour man Corey Graves for the night.

As reported previously, Trips' job title changed from WWE's Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative to Executive Vice President of Global Talent Development and Strategy. This, reportedly, is being considered a "quiet demotion" for him.

On SmackDown, Triple H was happy to poke fun at himself and say the real work starts now. His light-hearted comments were a neat nod towards WWE's inner workings for fans who enjoy that sort of thing.
