Vince McMahon Made BIG Changes To Last Night's WWE Raw

WWE originally had something different in mind for the first 30 minutes of Raw.

Wrestling Observer chief Dave Meltzer is reporting that Vince McMahon made huge changes to the first 30 minutes or so of last night's WWE Raw broadcast.

Speaking via Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said Seth Rollins' planned "Open Challenge" for the World Heavyweight Championship was actually supposed to happen up until the last few minutes before the show. It was McMahon who decreed that Finn Bálor should attack him instead.

Vince reportedly wanted to "heat up" Finn heading into his crunch clash vs. Rollins on WWE's upcoming Money In The Bank 2023 pay-per-view in London, England. That was a last-minute decision, but it's one that's already been roundly praised by most on social media.

Meltzer said company sources told him "the 30 minutes Vince put in [were] better than the 30 minutes that [were] taken out". McMahon hasn't been praised for many of his sweeping last-minute changes to scripts over the years, but it looks like this one worked out well for everybody.

The revised plan was to put full focus on Bálor's threat, which is why he was so aggressive during his ambush on Seth.
